Family Update: Tuesday 8-July

Good News: Laura will be discharged tomorrow and Alex is now off nasal c-pap. Alex is breathing under the oxygen enriched hood. His lungs' abilities to transfer oxygen to the blood stream and remove carbon dioxide have well improved. His breathing is less labored and less frequent which are all positives. Assuming his blood gas levels remain as is or improve, the doctors may try normal feedings (bottle or the boobs) tomorrow. This means tomorrow Laura may have an opportunity to hold Alex for the 1st time since delivery....I know she can't wait!
