The kids started back at school on August 13th and we were all pretty happy to get back into a real schedule. They are both at the middle school this year and riding the same bus. They even have the same Spanish teacher at different times but they can help one another with their homework. Here's to a great year 3!
This picture was on the middle school Instagram page and it warmed my heart to see the boys walking together (on the left...Ben is mostly hidden) because Alex was a little nervous about walking through the high school to get to the middle.
Both boys attend Bali stage every Friday morning now and I saw them wave to each other across the stands.
Meanwhile, I got to get back to my life and activities with my friends. We started up our Tuesday tennis again, but the group is much smaller now :(
We still celebrate with our chicken wings, though!
I've also been working on my sad golf game. Matt booked us a tee time and said "Laura" 4 times but they still couldn't understand my name, so he finally went with my Indonesian name Mala, which is always a sure thing.
This is my lovely group who will be participating in the BWA tournament in October. We have two strong players and two of us along for comic relief.
Alex is taking his tennis lessons again, which means I get to watch the kittens and chickens play next to the court.
Alex got to join Ben's volcano group at school and was pretty excited about their first day of activities.
We've gotten reunited with all things Jakarta, like the traffic. We had dinner at Skye in the city, just 6 miles from our house. The trip took 1.5 hours and we arrived 45 minutes late, but the kids have finally gotten used to the crippling traffic and barely complained.
The food and the view made it worthwhile. It's fun having kids old enough to enjoy a nice dinner with us every once in a while!
