The kids had a 4-day weekend for Easter, so we decided to spend a few days relaxing in Lombok. It's much quieter than Bali and Selong Belanak beach was a perfect choice. The welcome committee was out and ready for us at the resort.

I love the feeling of a whole day with nothing planned except for this! Swimming, surfing, boogie boarding, reading, napping...we did it all.

A great way to start the day! We had every meal at Laut Biru because it was just too good to bother going anywhere else. Not that there are a lot of choices nearby but we didn't even look.
The boys and I made two trips half a mile to the far end of the beach to enjoy this secret beach. You'd never know it was there if you didn't climb the rocks and it was our private playground!
Naturally, this is what happened next, but the current wasn't strong and it was so much fun to jump in over and over. Even their old mom got in on the fun multiple times.
Our house was down on the beach level with no view but an easy walk. We did go up to the hillside pool to check out the view and the sunset and it did not disappoint!

We met an unhappy guest on our way back to our house. The crab had no patience for any of us!
Easter Sunday always has a different look here. We were going to celebrate that evening with the live broadcast from our Houston church, so Easter morning was quiet with just a quick egg hunt around our pool.
One more walk past the friendly cows on our way to breakfast. Just a reminder that Lombok is still so unspoiled and undeveloped!
One more lunch in paradise and it was time to head home.
